The prime role of the Head of an Academic Department is to provide strong academic leadership. The Head of Department is required to lead, manage and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities. Roles & responsibilities
  1. Maintain adequate supplies of stationary and materials to meet the requirements of the Institution.
  2. Issue stationary, materials and equipment from stores as required.
  3. Receive replacement stocks of materials and equipment, ensuring that these are correct in terms of number and specification.
  4. Maintain up-to-date records of all stock movements to ensure that optimum stock levels are maintained.
  5. Carry out regular stock checks to ensure that adequate supplies are maintained.
  6. Reorder stock as required to ensure that the optimum levels of required stationary, materials and equipment are maintained.
  7. Maintain contact with relevant departments to ensure that stock items and stock levels are appropriate to their requirements.
  8. Yearly audits and scrapping / disposal of unused / old items.
